Vermont Handcrafted — Return & Exchange Policy

At Vermont Handcrafted, we stand behind the quality, craftsmanship, and care that go into every product we carry. Because many of our items are made in small batches or created by local artisans, our return policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and supportive of both our customers and our makers.


Order Verification & Security
To protect our customers and our small business, all orders are subject to a brief verification review before shipment. If an order is flagged by our payment processor and we’re unable to complete verification in a timely manner, the order may be canceled and fully refunded prior to shipment.

Shipping & Processing
Orders are processed in the order received. Tracking information is provided once an order has shipped. Verification reviews may delay shipment slightly.

Cancellations & Refunds
If an order is canceled during processing, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method. Refund timing depends on your bank or card issuer.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for supporting a small Vermont-based shop.

For security, all orders are subject to verification; orders that cannot be verified during processing may be canceled and refunded and are not eligible for reinstatement.

30-Day Return Window

If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return within 30 days of delivery.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Item must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition.

  • Packaging, labels, and any included inserts must be intact.


Non-Returnable Items

Because of their nature, the following items cannot be returned:

  • Food items (maple candy, baking mixes, specialty foods)

  • Personal care goods (soaps, balms, textiles that contact the body)

  • Made-to-order or personalized items

  • Seasonal or holiday goods

  • Sale or clearance items


Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Email us with:

  • Your order number

  • A brief description of the issue

  • A photo of the item + packaging

We’ll replace the item or issue a refund as quickly as possible.


Refunds

Once your return is received and approved:

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method

  • Processing time is typically 3–5 business days

Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.


Exchanges

We currently offer exchanges for:

  • Apparel in a different size

  • Items damaged during shipping

To start an exchange, contact us and we’ll walk you through the simple steps.


Return Shipping

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless:

  • The item arrived defective

  • The wrong item was shipped

  • There was a fulfillment error on our part

We recommend using a trackable shipping method.
